BI Architect job Description:
Scope of engagement is to staff a BI strategy architect with experience in defining and building next generation BI layer that includes portal, dashboards, integration with sharepoint for content management, conformed dimensions & aggregates, self-service BI, web services, multiple BI tools (BO, OBIEE), BI center of excellence. Resource will have in-depth dimensional modeling skills and large DW/BI implementation experience.
Required Skills:
Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Objects, with overall 12 plus years of IT experience Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence area, meta data and data quality Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Modeling and Universe designing in Business Objects Minimum 8 years of experience in sizing and capacity planning in BI/Business Objects Minimum 8 years of experience with ETL tools ( Informatica preferred) Experience in Financial Industry Mainframe experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Analyze Business Objects Reports/Universe
- Understand/Analyze EUDs
- Collect History Data/Replication Requirements
- Collect Current Environment Statistics for BO, ETL and Database DB2
- Estimate effort & cost to upgrade Infrastructure for Business Objects and Database to achieve load-balancing, clustering and high availability to support other project initiatives
- Analysis to build centralized Meta data management repository
- Analysis to build Data Quality Framework, and to implement data quality rules
- Estimate cost and effort for design/development/implementation
- Present the BI Strategy to management
Tasks & Deliverables:
1. Analyzing user information needs and accessibility requirements for front-end BI applications
2. Designing functional specifications for BI front-end applications
3. Understand various subject area & define end to end BI solution (Market product, Profitability, Credit Risk etc.)
4. Define the Information delivery strategy
5. Design and implement a scalable BO Universe and reporting framework
6. Define Standards for Semantic Layer and Reporting modules
7. Design Information access layer and Portal Integration Strategy
8. Create dashboard design patterns, standards, and templates
9. Design and implement BI metadata and data dictionary design and standards
10. Recommend Data Access/BI Tools to Business
11. Devise the BI Content Testing & Migration Strategy
12. Design the Information access and BI Security Strategy
13. Supporting Organization in integration efforts to merge BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications
14. Strategy to support EUDs
15. Recommendations for Performance tuning and query optimization
16. Recommend BI Self-Service Tool/Strategy
17. Recommend BI Center of excellence strategy
