Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Teaching is a myth but Learning is real

Dear
Dr.S.Ramakrishna Sharma,    excellent saying  sir.....unfortunately, privatization vis-a-vis commercialization of social values have reduced the value and significance of modern teachers.....even then, teaching community is the highly respectable community in this country.....people may forget their superior officers in their respective institutions..... but they never forget good teachers.....while poor wages in the so-called private institutions are contributing a lot for the falling intellectual and ethical standards,  group politics, self-centrism and ego-centrism are playing a vital role in government colleges/institutions.....add to this shortage of faculty and over burdening of senior faculty with non-academic, extraneous activities are also contributing a lot to this deterioration....

....my dear teachers, please do remember, your students are very clever people and observing you on 24X7 basis....upholding of intellectual and cultural standards shall go  hand in hand....

Teaching, for a real teacher, is also an ongoing process of learning the processes of learning.
A traditional shloka in Sanskrit about learning:
AachAryAt pAdam aadatte| pAdam shishyah svamEdhayA|
pAdam sabhrahmachAribhyah|pAdam kAlakramENa cha||
Meaning - LEARNING = 25% from the teacher; 25% with own ability;25% from
the classmates; 25% in course of time - experience. This applies to
a teacher too, as a teacher is life time student.
