Re: [MTC Global] Gita in schools? Improper, says CPI-M

Already the school curriculums are full of many of these things based on who runs the school, either in the books or outside the books. In fact, in my childhood, we have lessons from bhagavatham, ramayana and so on in the official text books, not as a special subject which Mr. Dave craves for but part of language teaching. If this trend goes on, then the world becomes full of fanatics like some muslim zihadists and hindu fundamentalists.

why not Bhagwat Gita / Mahabharat / Ramayana should be taught in schools ?
Ultimately the positive things from the subject needs to be taken from each story !
Has world showed dis-pleasure after knowing that at many places kids are taught on how to do terrorist attacks ?
Compare to such bad teachings, what justice Dave said is for every one to UNDERSTAND LIFE & not necessary HUDUISUM !!

Dave's suggestion that the Gita and the Mahabaratha should be taught in schools."What Justice Dave has advocated is religious instruction in all schools from Class I. Compulsory religious instruction in government schools violates the basic secular principle enshrined in the constitution," the Communist Party of India-Marxist said. "It is unfortunate that a sitting judge of the Supreme Court propounds his personal views which go against the grain of the secular democratic constitutional principle which he as a judge is expected to uphold," said a party statement. Judge Dave said here Saturday: "Had I been the dictator of India, I would have introduced the Gita and Mahabharata in Class I. That is the way you learn how to live life. I am sorry if somebody says I am secular or I am not secular. But we have to get good things from everywhere." IANS
