Job Title :- Senior Netezza DBA
Job Location :- Lebanon, OH
Duration :-6+ months with possible extension
• 8+ years of experience in database administration as Netezza DBA.
• Experience working with at least one large-scale parallel database engine (Oracle RAC, Teradata, DB2 UDB EEE, Informix XPS)
• Ability to learn new leading edge technologies
• Strong knowledge of relational database technology, SMP or ASMP architecture and good SQL programming skills
• Knowledge in Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting
• Experience in measuring, analyzing and tuning the performance of Business Intelligence database applications
• Strong decision-making, organizational, planning and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and work to implement new ideas to automate procedures
Technical/Functional Skills
8+ years' Experience managing and maintaining Netezza production databases
• Strong knowledge on Netezza Database Managements systems in Linux environment
• Good Knowledge of SQL, UNIX Shell scripts or Perl
• Operating Systems: Linux or AIX
• Knowledge of tools like: Aginity ,dbvisualizer, NPS admin tool, Netezza portal.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Plan, design, enhance, and maintain decision support database solutions using IBM Netezza database technology.
• Evaluate/review/implement new technologies and products, new NPS releases, patch releases.
• Perform database management tasks including database infrastructure design, automation of data loads, performance tuning, SQL programming, space management, backup/recovery, security and version control
• Support users, tune and troubleshoot data access applications and ad hoc queries
• Work closely with the database technology vendors on implementing new leading edge technologies/solutions.
