POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Business Intelligence Lead, the SAP BW Developer will work with BW functional owners, the BPC admin, Business Intelligence teams and end users to support, enhance and promote the BW environment within the organization. This candidate will be responsible for supporting all activities related to our SAP 7.31 BW on HANA environment and supporting BPC. In addition, this resource will assist in leveraging BW extractors from ECC for use in our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment (SQL Server) and work closely with the EDW team to ensure smooth ETL processes between ECC and the EDW.
Main Responsibilities:
§ Involved for all aspects of BW landscape – modeling, designing, development, testing and implementation.
§ Will be responsible for the maintenance and ownership of all BW extractors on the ECC side. This includes standard extractors (especially LBWE extractors) and custom ones; activating, setting up, and managing deltas for these extractors. For custom extractors, use strong ABAP skills to assist in building complex delta function modules.
§ Support ETL process from ECC into SQL-based Enterprise Data Warehouse.
§ Will be supporting both a production support path and project stream path in the same BW instance.
§ Support end user questions with the assistance of the BW functional lead.
§ Conduct and prepare materials for training sessions with end users.
Qualifications:
§ 3-5 years of BW development experience
o Experience throughout the entire landscape, from DataSources in ECC to replication in BW, to all DTPs, transformations, DSOs and InfoCube creation
o Process Chain creation and maintenance
o Transport builds
o BEx queries
§ Bachelor's Degree required
§ BPC experience highly preferred
§ Data modeling experience and experience pulling ECC data into non-BW systems preferred and very helpful in this environment.
§ Strong knowledge in the FICO area is a must.
§ Excellent ABAP skills preferred.
§ Retail experience preferred
§ HANA experience desirable
§ Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in small team
§ Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
