Re: [MTC Global] Donation to Foreign Institutions

Obama-Singh initiative for research in India received only one million US dollars from the USA, but TCS donated US $ 35 million.
TCS is a great philanthroper
Similarly, Reliance gave a huge donation to one of the management school in the USA.
American industries stopped giving donations but pay for technical services received.

Dear Sirs,
Even an announcement to consider each smart city by at least one unit of their empires will accelerate the pace of "Make-in-India"; I have seen Pune rising to Telco and Aurangabad rising to Bajaj Auto's expansion projects, which revamped the town ships in totality to make the organization cost competitive in view of global competition in return.
Cheers,
G.S.Autee

Subject: [MTC Global] Donation to Foreign Institutions

Except donation by few companies/individuals for top institutions in India, rest is for overseas institutions. Towards 'Make in India' / ' Wake up / Stand up India' , Companies / Individuals should donate more to the quality institutions in rural areas for capacity enhancement.......

A news article from HT

IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday announced a donation of $ 35 million to the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, the largest gift this top American educational institute has received from outside the United States.
The donation will be used for setting up a new facility at its campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and providing scholarships for students.
"Representing the largest corporate gift to CMU and the largest gift from outside the US, this donation will fund a new facility, the TCS Building, which will support education and cutting-edge research by CMU faculty and students," CMU said in a statement.
At about 40,000 square-feet, the stand-alone structure will house state-of-the-art facilities, providing collaborative spaces for the CMU community, it added.
The building will also provide space for TCS staff to interact with CMU faculty, staff and students, it said.
The Pennsylvania governor, Tom Wolf, welcomed the donation and said, "This is an exciting time as we see more and more companies establish and expand their presence in the state."
Carnegie Mellon has been especially adept in attracting cutting-edge businesses to and near its campus, which helps to drive economic growth, he added.
The statement further said, the gift will also endow presidential fellowships and scholarships, increasing access to a CMU education for outstanding students.
"With our shared commitment to education and research in areas that help address many challenges of our time, the partnership with TCS is both natural and extraordinarily promising," said Carnegie Mellon president Subra Suresh.
"Together, our two organisations have the capabilities and capacity to make breakthrough discoveries, and the scale to make societal impact on a global scale," he said.
