Job Description:

  • Map Reduce with Java – J2EE (Mandatory)
  • Strong scripting experience in python is necessary
  • Linux admin, exposure to distribute clusters operations
  • Hadoop operations experience is preferred
  • Attitude towards automation - Experience in workflow and operations automation (ansible, Oozie etc)
  • This is someone very detailed oriented and good at doing the odd jobs and fix ups necessary to make pipelines run.
  • The person triggers pipelines, updates schedule if too much is running simultaneously does a first pass through logs to find problems monitors things like free space and takes manual mitigation steps.
  • No specific task is hard, but a good candidate must be comfortable with Shell, Python and have some exposure to data flows on Hadoop.
  • Also need a personality who is driven and detail oriented. We have gone through a couple of folks who have required just constant hand holding and goal setting, and that is not a good profile.

 Mandatory Skills: MapReduce, Java-J2EE MapReduce
