Job Title: Facilities Engineer (Data Center Expert)
Location: Lancaster, PA
Duration: Long term contract
Requisition Details:
This facilities engineer is responsible for the overall regional effectiveness and efficiency of the firm's data centers and office computing environments (under general direction of the endpoint delivery manager, ensuring that high levels of service and performance targets are maintained. This individual will be reporting to the manager of Endpoint Delivery. The individual in this role will take ownership of all aspects of the firm's data center and office computing room services including but not limited to drafting and maintaining procedures and documentation for environment and facility support. The individual will also be responsible for the standardization and development of regional disaster recovery plans for each manage or hosted computing environment. The documentation must include all services, technology and software in the facilities and what is required to be performed in the event of an outage or disaster.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure accountability for migration/release activities as defined in WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff's change control methodology
Provide input on IT and business related initiatives regarding network systems
Requirements:
3+ years relevant experience with data center services and hosting provider management
Experience leading Date Center Migrations and Consolidations
Experience managing or supporting medium to large scale data center environments
Specific experience in the following is required: Servers, Storage, WAN, LAN, and other traditional Data Center Equipment.
High degree of independence and initiative
High degree of initiative
Ability to work creatively and analytically with others in a problem-solving environment
Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to end users at all levels
Ability to present complex ideas and concepts to all levels of management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills equivalent
