Re: [MTC Global] Do you support common curriculum for school education?

Sir, The MHRD can lay down the education standards and regulate quality but it should
avoid the temptation to dictate what should and should not be taught except when it comes
to ideologies and instructions that challenge our national constitution. We should not
sacrifice our great diversity for what is a deadening uniformity.
It is a fact of history, that attempts to impose a single language, a single customs, a
single ( the only way) of doing anything, had been rendered futile in the end. India has
been together because of our unique identity of absorbing everything, pursuing all that
is natural and beautiful, searching relentlessly for inner truth and attaining peace and
harmony in our relationships with everyone thus retaining our very Indian thought
processes.
We should not end up as clones of another way of life forsaking our own. It is important
to retain this concept in education because it (education) molds young minds.

If education is also in state list, what type of autonomy the states have regarding
designing of the curriculum at the school level?
Such a step, does not it need a discussion at least in parliament which is the policy
making body of our country?
I hope the central govt. leadership acts wisely and responsibly.

Education Minister has proposed the same and soon MHRD is coming out with the common
curriculum to ensure uniformity, better outcome and inclusiveness. No more CBSE , ICSE
and State Syllabus. Not sure about what will happen to international / Cambridge
curriculum.

AICTE and UGC will soon replace by HEERA as proposed by Niti Aayog. Indian education
space is going through lot of reforms.

All central university has the similar curriculum which is against the objective of
setting up of central university to explore the local potential, connect with the local
resources and development of the particular region.

Is it such reforms, or something else to be fixed to ensure better outcome?
