Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-II] What do we want the university as a workplace to look like?

University is meant for "academic excellence" well said!
For academic excellence,
we should keep religion and faith out of the university campuses. Agree.
Is not that
keeping religion and faith out of the university campuses in  itself a type faith? Is not religious minority is a man made faith?

I think we should keep religion and faith out of the university campuses. Catering to one or the other religious minority or a group of students may not be a good way of creating harmony. We include some and exclude others will only lead to spiritual distortions and an unnecessary crisis in a university.

Religion to me is a private matter, just like sexuality. Universities should focus on excellence, that is the "academic excellence". Many other activities listed by esteemed MCTicians are valid. Thanks.

The specifications of the university as a work place are well listed, well thought out. But the outcomes of university functioning need to be defined so as to justify the features of a work place.

Dear MTCians,

University as a workplace, as per my view should be like as follows:

๐Ÿ‘‰There should be no more 9 to 5

๐Ÿ‘‰Work from anywhere

๐Ÿ‘‰Facility management must be wonderful

๐Ÿ‘‰Rise of living standards

๐Ÿ‘‰Internet should be available 24/7 with no speed limit

๐Ÿ‘‰ There should be no longer delay in getting things done

๐Ÿ‘‰ Environmental should be versatile and culture must holistic

๐Ÿ‘‰ Rules must benefit people rather causing exasperation

๐Ÿ‘‰ Men and material must be well organised, updated and always upgraded.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Salary standards must be more respectful and there has to be healthy competition in the process of learning and enhancing work skills.

Best Regards,
Prof. Syed Ameen Ahmed
