Student participation becomes meaningful if they take responsibility for their growth and create a platform for that growth. IF we can move away from just academics to hand-holding them in their emotional, social and personal growth ,I believe there will be a great interest in being a part of the process.
The issue for me is there is a lot being done in the name of student activities. How many students take a leadership role? how many are just spectators even though they could be great team lead?
How many times have we asked students to set the rules? I have often been terrified as the students rules are a lot more draconian than what I can set.
