Re: [MTC Global] Skill Gap of India - Key Issues

Dear All,
Here is a reference document "India Skill Report 2017" for ready reference; ref: https://wheebox.com/static/wheebox_pdf/india-skills-report-2017.pdf
  • Creating a platform for the supply and demand side of talent to come together and bridge the demand with the expectations was the reason why this initiative called India Skills Report was launched; Job – Talent matchmaking in India has seen a journey of its own.

  • We trust we all would be in position to contribute towards a developed and skilled India.

Warm regards,
G.S.Autee

For past 5 to 6 years, we have discussed, debated, deliberated a plethora of suggestions, opinions, steps, measures for
Skilling India & ensuring that demographic dividend happens the right way.
Let all these suggestions & content be sent to the right authorities & respective Ministers, who can make a difference.
Then, we can have a one on one meeting with the various depts , bureaucrats & Ministers.
A comprehensive document can be prepared. Govt has to involve the state govts & all stakeholders to implement.
MTC G is one of the stakeholders and cannot go beyond a point.
Prof Prabhakarji, Mr Virendra Goelji, Me, Dr S Pratap reddy sir, Dr Paranjpe, Dr Dey, Dr Govind, Dr Jagan Mohan , Stephen, few other seniors, with Prof Bholanath doing the overall coordination can build a wonderful new India in 5 years. We are good enough & do not need any more expertise.
Are the powers that be, listening ?
If we want a better India with productive youth - that"s the only way.
In fact, the ball will be in their court shortly, once we pass it on,

My take is:
  1. Is it not true that we know where the skill gap lies?
  2. It is necessary to reduce the gap between what we write, what we implement, how we distribute the benefits to society and above all the gap in mind set: national Vs individual.Whatever I do, the first query is: Is it in the interest of my Nation? If yes, go ahead, else change the track.
  3. Meeting the skill gap is not as hard as meeting the mind set gap. Only healthy  though process can change the skill gap for action follows thought..

Subject: [MTC Global] Skill Gap of India - Key Issues
Our  PM launched the World Youth Skills Day recently , It would be really worth to have discussion on where India has a skills gap.

It is critical that we identify these gaps accurately because by 2020, 60% of India's population of 1.3B will be in the working age group of 15-59 years. If adequately skilled, such demographics have the potential to make India a global HR powerhouse.

Warm Regards,
Dr. S. S. Dey
