Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-I] The most productive countries in the world do not work more

Dear all,

There is one more problem in our nation is that, we have to stay back in office even after completion of the task. The protocol is to follow the working hours though productive or unproductive.

There is nothing like work from home or prepare from home and come to office once it's required and then go back.

I don't know why the rules are made to curb productivity.

Ours is a very interesting concept-we work long hours because we dont do anything on time.I go to a Government office mid morning-coffee time; later its lunch and then its evening coffee.Suddenly at 4 everyone is so active till 6.That  apart we believe a child who sits for hours with his textbook is learning max; we believe it of our work too
And IT guys though are being slave driven. It s an attitude problem and has had disastrous consequence on the health of the young

Dear Esteemed MTCians,
  1. We definitely need to ponder over the points raised. It's not how many hours of work we have logged in that matters; what really matters is what goes into those work-hours.
  2. Only when we realize/recognize and accept that every minute counts, can we hope to achieve higher productivity in everything we do.
  3. Hard work should go hand in hand with smart work and teamwork.
  4. Ultimately, our aim should be 'optimization of resources'.

The most productive countries in the world do not work 8 hours per day. Actually, the most productive countries have the shortest workdays.
People in countries like Luxembourg are working approximately 30 hours per week (approximately 6 hours per day, 5 days per week) and making more money on average than people working longer workweeks.
