Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-I] The most productive countries in the world do not work more

In countries like India, it is the attitudes, work style and contribution of about 10% people which feeds 90%'s needs.  Hence these 10% people have to work massive hours.  If the work planned, distributed and later executed effectively working 5 hours a day is definitely possible.  As of now to realize this and implement these we have to work 24 hours!!!!

Productivity analysis is a very tricky area.

  1. Enhanced productivity means more wealth creation, more ca pita earning. Enhanced productivity  normally represents less consumption of both resources and time meant for the same or more output.
  2. Productivity is a function of {how much one spends on job/work, how much one gets free time}
  3. The time frame is a constant 24X7 per week.
  4. Hence the sum of work time and free time remains a constant. It means working less provides one more  free time or vice verse.
  5. More free time in turn helps boost up productivity of work-time. It also promotes quality of life that in turn helps reduce work time.
  6. Work time is a function of {organization design, job design, work-place design, simplification, use of technology, skill, motivation}
  7. But differentiate:productivity, efficiency  and effectiveness.More productivity may mean less effectiveness or vice verse.
  8. Some researchers speak about triple index of productivity: Conceptual Constraint, Technological Constraint and Labor productivity index.

Subject: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-I] The most productive countries in the world do not work more
The most productive countries in the world do not work 8 hours per day. Actually, the most productive countries have the shortest workdays.
People in countries like Luxembourg are working approximately 30 hours per week (approximately 6 hours per day, 5 days per week) and making more money on average than people working longer workweeks.
