Re: President of French Parliament wishing to meet our leader?

Mr Ngwa, I share your opinion. Chinua Achebe says in his novel Things Fall Apart that 'he who waits shall see what is in the grass". You do not see the grass shaking and start running away. In as much as it could be a dangerous snake, it could equally be a juicy cane rat. I buy Mr Ngwa's ideas that we should not turn down such an invitation but rather approach it with caution making sure we do not sign another " Accord de Cooperation."

Dear all,
In my humble opinion, the wish by the President of the French Parliament to meet with our leader is welcome. It is left to our leader and his team of diplomats (who must be seasoned and make no mistake(s) at any time), to handle all meetings well. Expressing concerns about that meeting is in order, knowing the enemy involved. Such concerns, though genuine, should not translate to closing our doors. It might be a good meeting after all.

It might also be a trap. Be vigilant. It might not all look gloomy.
Warning not to be excited.

I had foreseen this though I never expressed it anywhere. There was a time the French Embassy in Yaounde dispatched an emissary to come and find out how we shall treat them when we have our independence. They  had a 3 hours discussion with Barrister Bobga and Mr Ndangam at the Alliance Franco-Camerounaise in Bamenda. Expressing the wish to see our President, is it not a tacit form of recog nition? Let's keep our fingers crossed until after the meeting.
