Often, the "insurance won't cover it" and "I can't afford it" are simple excuses for "I don't want to do that right now!" And all you can do is to accept it, and tell them to call you when they need you. Barring devine intervention, this isn't going away, so she will need care at some point, and all you can do is to convey your concern and tell her the truth about her problem. She is just so young and there are other pressing issues in her life, you know that!Rick--On Fri, Aug 16, 2013 at 9:07 AM, David Hamel <hameldds@gmail.com> wrote:
I heard from the patient yesterday on what we are doing for her…nothing, for now. Her "insurance ran out". : ))So I Gregori is right, the finances perspective is the controlling factor. I did say perspective because she can afford it, whatever it might be. I know the family she married and there is no "affordability" problem other than between the ears and that is due to insurance company "educating" people. It is a great example of inscos lowering the level of patient care.

It is not that complicate, Terry. I've done what Gregori stated and repaired by packing the MTA or Putty down the defect and then scraping it off flat with the root surface. It is a fairly easy procedure. But still you are dealing with the 50/50.Guy W. One option is to flap and surgerize the area (clean it out make sure the perf is sealed and bone graft the lesion) also check pulp on 18 to make sure its only coming from 19 post perfGregori M. Kurtzman, DDS, MAGD, FPFA, FACD, FADI, DICOI, DADIA

Subject: [ACEsthetics] tx options number 19Colleagues,This young lady is new to my office and we discovered this on initial exam. We are in the process of dealing with her other decay issues but I want to know what you all think for predictable treatment options for her lower first molar.I'll tell you my Rx is remove and implant but she wants to explore all options. The lesion is not communicated with the peril sulcus as I can not probe beyond about 3mm in the sulcus and there is no drainage. It is asymptomatic. I have no experience with endo retreatments involving MTA or similar and this would be referred if that were attempted but I'd like to know if there is any hope from your experiences to predictably keep this tooth.Thanks,-- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ACEsthetics" group.
