Skills Required and Job Description:

Role Description: Healthcare strongly preferred. The BI / ETL / Data Warehouse Tester would need to have a minimum of 5-7 years of professional work experience within the IT field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in BI projects. This candidate will create, review and execute test cases that ensure data extraction, transformation, and migration according to requirements and technical specifications. Verify that data is transformed correctly according to various business requirements and rules. Make sure that all projected data is loaded into the data warehouse per requirements. Make sure that ETL application appropriately rejects, replaces with default values and reports invalid data. Responsibilities include: · Collaborate with developers, quality assurance analysts, and other stakeholders on software projects · Analyze requirements and create test cases, and test data. · Develop tests strategies, test scenarios, and tests to be executed against the database and data using SQL and other tools. Requires expert knowledge of SQL against source and target data models with a thorough understanding of complex atomic models. · Ensure the data is extracted correctly, delivered to its destination, and correctly uploaded. · Identify, analyze, and document defects or other anomalies discovered in the data. · Developing scalable and reusable processes and automation frameworks for analyzing data and delivering ongoing quality metrics (leveraging SQL, PL SQL, UNIX, and other tools). · Maintaining test environments to include testing tools and automation products · Review test documentation with rest of the team. · In addition to ETL testing, data validation testing and testing of Cognos reporting applications, including Framework Manager validation.   Required Skills: · Candidate must possess at least 5 years of experience in Conducting Data Warehouse/ETL/BI Testing with preferably working knowledge of Datastage tool. Must know Unix commands. · Strong SQL skills and should be able to write SQL to compare and reconcile source and target databases. · Expertise in development of Test Scripts for Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) Routines in the data warehousing environment. · Experience with Test Automation and Performance Tools. · Understand Business/Functional Requirement to Develop, Validate, and Implement Test Plans and Test Cases · Experience in defect tracking and management using defect tracking tools · Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies · Strong data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities · Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or equivalent work experience.   Desired Skills: Datastage tool Cognos IBM domain database Healthcare domain
