Re: [MTC Global] Politicians need to be trained

Let the politicians first of all know the Etiquette, good manners and polite behaviour in public and while participating in Legislature and Parliamentary   proceedings. Let them first stop the habit of tapping the table and clapping for everything and anything their leader says without even knowing what has been told. How much submissive and humble when they come for a(l)rms of vote and how much they promise in bundles which are never attended to after the elections are over.

How many times we have witnessed the MLAs and MPs yelling, arguing  and quarreling with each other and throwing chairs in open air inside the Hall and walking out of the proceedings if their desires are not met. What is it they have achieved by walking out against some rulings. After they walk out, proceedings continue and voice vote  decides the version of the speaker.

How much decorum the participants in a Board Meeting of the company follow and how much appreciation and involvement they show in all "for and against" decisions which the Chairperson takes. The Board meeting of a company  may be conducted with smaller numbers but the decorum and etiquette has no difference if it is applied to a Legislature or a Parliamentary proceedings.

How many will be willing to undergo management education, even if it is offered free of cost and even if it is made mandatory. They will have their own excuses to attend the sessions and go on ML. Their minds are bent upon enjoying their tenure, enjoy the facilities and privileges, make a group of their own and fight for nothing.

When Dr.APJ addressed the school students,  he asked the students as to what they want to become  in future, every one started telling that they want to become as Engineers, Doctors, Managers, Accountants, Teachers etc., Dr.APJ asked them as to why they do not want to become politicians, there was no answer. Then he suggested that our country needs politicians with good educational background to manage the affairs of the country and take the country to a different pinnacle.

Barring very few contenders vast majority of politicians are either not educated nor have  inclination to study. They make a cluster of like minded people who would help them when they are in distress and who would become beneficiaries once the said politicians hold some important portfolio in the party or occupy an invulnerable position in the ministry.

It is destiny that Education has become secondary for politicians and what is required of a politician is that  he must wield importance in the society, have dedicated supporters, be in the good books of the leader, be wealthy enough to spend for elections.

It is good that our MTC- G is taking up for discussions and sharing of information on a social cause in the interest of the society and the Nation.

When we are talking about the need for politicians becoming profound in their approach and getting management education in the interest of their own self and the Nation, one of our Senior MTC member's remarks on a renowned entrepreneur looks odd which is not called for at this juncture.

Let us learn to make the life like making TEA.
  Boil your EGO,
  Evaporate your worries;
  Dilute your sorrows;
  Filter your mistakes
  Get taste of Happiness.

When we as Managers and noted administrators of an organisation start mudslinging on each other, we also become nothing short of politicians which should not happen. Let us all join hands and help the Nation gear up for betterment.

With due respect to the views expressed above, unless we make politics less lucrative there is limited possibility of improving the situation.
Unless we can do it, there is little possibility of getting respectable and capable citizens getting into politics.

Dear All,
With due respect to the words of Sir.NRN, in case we have educated class of people who are the policy makers we may indeed not need such an institute.
But looking at the present scenario, yes it is the need of the hour.

In order to make our political leaders to think and conduct themselves  better, there may be a need to train them on the fundamentals of economics ,
international trade etc. All the more reason, as they are the policy makers of the nation.

India needs leadership institutes for politicians: Narayana Murthy
Mumbai, Dec. 18:
In order to improve public governance, India must create institutions that can train the political class in economics and technology, said Infosys Chairman N.R. Narayana Murthy. "India needs leadership institutes for politicians. We need to ensure that adequate training is provided to politicians in the areas of macro economics, rudimentary micro economics, international trade and on the role of technology in improving public governance," he said.
