Merry Christmas!
Time moves so fast and we continue to age gracefully. It is amazing that we
have come once again to the season where we celebrate the birth of Christ
and say Merry Christmas to friends, family and colleagues.
Count Your Blessing
Count your blessings because you become illiterate and cynical when you do
not. This is a season to count your blessings and not your miseries. To look
out for your friends and not obsess with your enemies. Warts will always be
there but that does not mean the whole body is diseased. Failures will
always come but that does not mean that failure is final. Dark clouds will
always be there but that is not a sign of desperation but the fresh rains to
come. Count your blessings, loudly and clearly; it's your birthright.
.To improve your blessing arithmetic look closer not far. Look within not
outside you. Look at the present and not the distant and far-fetched future.
You easily rot looking at the future without appreciating the present. Other
people's success and progress are not an efficient measure of your own joy
or progress. Bath in the freshness of appreciation. Count your blessing,
name them one by one and see what God has done, so goes the old hymn.
Reflect a Little
Christmas is characterised by many festivities. However, Christmas is wasted
when you fail to reflect on its meaning to your life. Consider Jesus.
Reflect a little more, meditate on your life and its trajectory. Reflect not
on just the sequence of things but the meaning of things. Life will not have
meaning if you do not give it meaning.
Give a Book
God gave us his son, then he took his Son. In it all he gave us a book. If
God could give us a book or rather a set of 66 books, should we not be
giving each other books. A book is a great gift and immeasurable. It's a
vault of wisdom and insight. You can buy a book for a few dollars but your
cannot buy its message for that little. Books are seeds of greatness and
life. A book is a present to one person and to a generation of other people
that will read that book. A book affects the present and the future. It is a
present that is forever speaking. This is because you never read a book as
it is but as you are. Any book is always a fusion of the mind of the author
and the perception of the reader. Give a book and you give life and a living
mind.
Kind Words
Christmas is about kind words and wishes. Words have power; they touch the
heart and warm the soul. No one is so poor that they will be short of kind
words to give and send forth. Send forth words of gratitude, they warm the
heart and steer the soul. Send forth words of greeting and blessing. This is
not a season of cursing, it's a time of blessing. Blessing does more for
more people and despise a word well spoken.
Allow me to thank you for your support on 2013. I wish you a Merry
Christmas. May it be a season of rest, revival and restoration. May your
energy be recharged and your vision clarified. May you have new energy to
love, live and serve.
Do more great things and be more in 2014.
