A method that I had adopted had produced good results. It works like this – last 10 minutes of a period of one hour were called question time. Teacher would ask the students if anybody had any question to ask, if there was one, he will first give opportunity to any student who would like to answer and after students' answer he will sum up. If no student had question then he would ask a question and ask the quite students he identified during these sessions, to answer such question. There would always be few students who would like to answer the question of the teacher but before the teacher gave chance to such student/s to speak, he will interact with such students who were also known as back benchers..
