She did.  I called her this morning to see how she was doing and left a message.  Long story short…she called back to tell us how miserable she was and that she was starving because she can't bring her teeth together to eat and can't work because she can't bring her lips together to talk.

We did enough IPR to create movement in a highly crowded max and man.  I disced 2-3 interproximals and used lightning strips in the rest.

Also the bear thing is from the Big Lewbowski that they are discussing in another thread.  Some days you are the bear and somedays you are the food.

Hi Jeff,

Did she contact you today??  What did she say?  Where and how much IPR did you do?

More importantly, what does "I am still not the bear" mean?!??

Well…let's follow up.  Apparently today I am still not the bear.

How many of you have removed brackets after you have done IPR and what do I need to do if she wants them off?

Jeff,
You obviously have one of my patients by mistake. This happens to all of us. I had one 2 weeks ago that is mand arch only. I put them on and the first thing out of her mouth is "I don't think I can do this" 10 minutes of assistant comforting later-- she finally leaves. She then calls back the same day and comes in the next day to tell me that the lateral bracket is larger than the centrals bracket and could I change the bracket to the smaller one. She didn't make it back to me my office coordinator told her that is was completely normal and we would see her in a month. Haven't seen her again yet (about 2 weeks away). This was LOWER only and I've known her personally for about 10-15 years and she's 40 years old. I just laugh it off now and tell them we have done hundreds of cases and it will all be fine. Standard for us to tell them is the first month is the most uncomfortable and 2nd month is the month they move the most. If we can get them to month 3--its the home stretch anyway. Only had 1 pt ever take them off in hundreds of cases and she paid half of our fee and is still a pt. Good luck--women are crazy (jk kind of)

Alright…

Just had a braces on appointment with a patient.  If she had been the first patient I ever had a braces on appt with 6MS I would have never done the procedure again.  It just makes me miserable when you think you see something at the consult and/or records appointment that MIGHT be a red flag and then right after you bond the brackets on all the crazy starts coming out.  We literally bonded them in and then removed the plastic off the stents and she bursts into tears.  It went downhill from there.

What a way to start the week back from Memorial Day.

I hope all of your days are starting better than mine.
