Last week I did full mouth extractions for interim full upper and lower dentures with the help of Physio forceps and soft relines. I saw him the next day for adjustments and except for occlusion, he was doing pretty well. He subsequently came in for additional adjustments, and now had multiple hemotomas under his eyes and chin. He says he did place cold packs as directed. I don't do full mouth extractions everyday, but I had never seen this happen before. We joked about it and I told him it would resolve itself in time. Last night I was at a restaurant with relatives celebrating my mother in law's 96th birthday. My bother's in law's brother in law, who father lives in the same condominium complex as my patient, told me that visiting his father the other day he saw a man who looked like he had been hit by a baseball bat. It turns out that it was my patient. This is terrible publicity for me. First how could I have avoided this, and what can I do now to help resolve the problem???
Nick
