Job Title : Hadoop

Location : LA or Sandiego

Duration :  1year+

 

Job Description

This role will be responsible for defining, designing and developing applications using Hadoop [Map/Reduce] by leveraging Hive, HBase and cloud services by Amazon EC2 .

 

§   Participate with business and engineering team members in the development of new software projects.

§   Develop application specifications and designs which are scalable, extensible, maintainable and testable

§   Build systems, libraries, and frameworks within, around, and on top of Hadoop

§   Utilize frameworks and extensions to Hadoop such as Hive, HBase

§   Design and implement Map/Reduce jobs to support distributed data processing

§   Process large data sets utilizing our Hadoop cluster

§   Implement and test by authoring automated unit and black-box tests preferably using MR Unit

§   Work in small teams where each team member has a lot of ownership and each individual can make a big impact

§  Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other staff members if needed

Qualifications

§  At least 1+ years of experience developing Hadoop applications using Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Hive, HBase and Amazon EC2

§  Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Java application development

§  Familiarity with Linux, J2EE, and Spring 3.0

§  Self-directed, with demonstrated problem solving skills

§  A proactive rather than reactive mindset

Location - LA or sandiego
Duration 14 months
