Hi all,

Ok, had this happen recently. Did an endo on a lower second bicuspid. Was painful or bothering prior to doing the endo. Endo completed and the fill seems good. About 4 days later or so, patient reports she cannot get her partial denture back in as there is a swelling there, by the tooth. We get her in and there seems to be a firm (not soft) mild swelling by the apex of the tooth. Not painful. Not hot/cold sensitive. Not anything that looks like it should be incised and drained. Not red. Just a little lump that is hitting the PLD flange. We adjust the intaglio of the denture. Denture goes in. Swelling is because of...what? We put her on Amoxil because I could not think of anything else to do. Disclaimer - to do the endo we blocked her AND gave her a full cartridge mental/incisve canal block. With articaine. Carefully over several minutes. Could this be a tissue irritation from the articaine?
