Job Description:
Hands on experience using Enterprise Server Version (ESX) to support mission critical VM environment. Required 3 Years Hands on experience with VMware, vSphere v4.0 Required 3 Years Hands on experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), vMotion, DRS Required 3 Years Experience in SAN attached clusters Required 3 Years Hands on experience with RDS/Citrix Desired 3 Years ** The key to this position is the true DESIGN experience that a candidate has with respect to new server builds or designing the transition from Physical to Virtual (VMWare) servers. Candidates also need to have excellent communication skills in order to discuss the requirements with internal clients, etc. They are mainly a WIndows 2008 shop, but have 2003 machines as well.
They also have Citrix so that is a very NICE TO HAVE, but not mandatory. Experience Clustering servers is also Nice to Have. They are 65% virtual shop now and have a large Physical to Virtual conversion in the spring.
Short Description: Provide planning, designing, and configuration for the Windows Operating System, Wintel hardware and VMware environments. Working with clients to understand requirements, and translating those requirements into system design. Complete Description: Provide planning, designing, and configuration for the Windows Operating System, Wintel hardware and VMware environments. Working with clients to understand requirements, and translating those requirements into system design. Implement test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans. Prepare and clearly describing the design, including rationale for decisions and implications of decisions. Deliver high-quality solutions to our clients to ensure their investment is consistent with their business objectives. Provide post project support to clients as needed. Contribute to product development and written proposals. Provide Level 3 support and solutions to complex hardware/software problems in both a physical and virtualized server environment.
Responsible for design and documentation that will be handed off to the teams that will build, implement and provide day to day support in the Data Center. Work in a team environment. This role is specific to Server Engineering, no hands-on build or day to day support. Behavior Characteristics: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to create and follow procedures, posses the ability to work unsupervised. Must have attention to detail and a "can-do" attitude. Excellent at multi-tasking and working well under pressure. Windows System Engineer experience in delivering complex technical solution Required 5 Years Comprehensive understanding of Windows 2003/2008 server OS systems Required 5 Years Dell series server compatible hardware Required 3 Years Comprehensive understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS and Group Required 3 Years Intermediate knowledge of network technologies and architectures Required 5 Years.
