massive crackdown and arrescts of southern cameroons activists

Dear Brothers and sisters,
Ahead of independent celebrations in Buea, several activists including women have been rounded up and taken to detention camps in several parts of the Southern Region(Southwest Region). The series of arrests started since the 27th of September in Bokwango, Mutengene and Tiko all in the Southwest Region. Yesterday heavily armed security men mounted check points in various parts of the North West(Northern) and Southern Regions where they arrested several suspected activists. This morning as early as 7am 4 contingents of police vans arrested over a 100 activists who showed up for mass at the Great Soppo Catholic church for mass. Amongst the arrests are 2 jounalists and a lady cathechist.Over 400 activists were expected to carry out a series of evenyts marking the independence of Southern Cameroons today 1st of October in Buea.
About two months ago in her frantic effort to incriminate the Southern CAmaroons National Council, SCNC and her Leaders, the regime in Yaounde brought false claims linking the SCNC to the dreaded Bokoharam movement in Neighboring Nigeria.
