Re: [MTC Global] Are Indians being selectively Targetted & victimized in U.S.?

Behave in Rome as Romans behave.(Proverb Changed).

In any Country follow the rules of that Country.

Any individual or Organization is bound to fail when value system falls.

Greed is driving to overlook the rules.

Mr. Rajat Gupta had spoiled the name of Country . He has spoiled the case of many to them foreign countries like to give leading responsibilities.

Mr. Rajat Gupta had money , star career and every thing in life. But he could not keep his value system which has driven him to jail for  two years.

Executives working abroad must take lesson from incident. There is no need to show any sympathy to such persons.

My experience in disciplinary matters shows that big things get unchecked while a trivial matter will kill the career.

No organization will tolerate violation of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

Argument that others escape with bigger violations does not hold good.

Would like to push forward a point. Laws are made by society (an aggregate of individuals) and thus what might be a law in a country might go unpassed in another. So is the case for punishment for an offence. There might be a different punishment for insider trading in different countries. As all the above factors are governed by individuals thus ruling out the racial card or the country bias is something which cannot be totally ruled out. I feel a further analysis is required into the jurisprudence for insider trading in that country.

I agree - no act of omission or commission should go unpunished !

And the fact that an Assange.or Clinton managed.to remain unpunished for their transgressions does not mean that we should play the racial card and ask for absolution for an Induan's sins !

Dear Mr Narayanan, Unfortunately indians,  mostly politicians , industrialists,  top bureaucrats, technocrats and businessman,  have shown their greed in India and abroad by their acts of corruption. They need to be penalised for their acts of omission and commission, if proved guilty. Rajat Gupta has lowered the image and  prestige of indians by his acts like  Ramalinga Raju. We can not and should not defend their acts because of their being of indian origin  or because somebody else has not been penalised. Today we are witnessing the spectre of politicians accusing members other party of corruption, while  defending  more serious crime or fraud or corruption of leaders  of their own  party. It is so sickening.  I find the defenders are equally guilty,  if not more, for the  stark partisan reasons.    We need to understand the difference between need and greed. Regards, Dr R P Singh

Finally Rajat Gupta got 2 yrs + One year supervision of his conduct from U.S.Lawmakers and the Judge called his conduct of Insider Trading - disgusting and like stabbing the employers - Goldman Sachs in the back. At the age of 63 does Mr.Gupta deserve this kind of a sentencing?

Julian Assange of Wikileaks leaked a lot of classified U.S.Documents and continues to cock a snook at U.S Authorities.... Dominique Strauss Kahn of IMF who was imbroiled in controversies relating to his abuse of power and sexual orgies is still a free man.....

Former U.S. Prez. Bill Clinton has been accused by a few more females besides Monica Lewinsky of sexual gratification and abuse of Office but he was not convicted.....

However Anand Jon - the fashionista was promptly put behind bars on testimony of a couple of females whom he did not oblige to give them a chance to be on the ramp.

Over the years Indians are being selectively victimized...... neither our Political Class is interested in taking up cudgels for them nor is the media here interested in launching investigative journalism to put the pressure back on the U.S.Authorities..... Is the ambit of IAC ( India Against Corruption ) limited to only targetting politicians of our country irrespective of sufferings of our countrymen overseas?
