The second molars don't erupt until the early pre-teens, so the plane of occlusion has to have been established by the first molars. So how is it that when we Tscan an individual there are always BIG RED towers on the second molars? How can they erupt beyond the occlusal plane and be more in the way than anything else? Is the eruptive pressure so great? Wouldn't they be delimited by the plane of occlusion already established. Or is it that just like in a nut cracker, the force is always greatest near the fulcrum? And so, is that a normal or a pathologic force? I know I always try to get the Red towers down to Blue six story apartment buildings, but the occurrence of relapse.....! Oy?
