If a patient presents with chief complaints that indicate he has TMD and after the exam it is evident that he also has sleep apnea, how do you sequence treatment. Do you get the sleep apnea under control first or do you treat the TMD. What if the symptoms of the TMD are causing him more issues then the sleep apnea, does that effect the decision process?
