I found your article on 'selecting the first job' very very useful. Often students end up in making a wrong choice in the beginning itself and repent later. As you recommended the students need to do a lot of homework before deciding on the job that they opt for. The faculty and the TPO can play a key role in counseling the students and helping them in making a right decision. Frequent interaction with alumni and industry experts, industrial assignments/live projects, frequent well guided industrial visits, etc will also expose the students to various industries/sectors.

Such swift shift does not help  the student or the employer or for that matter , even the B school, as it affects its credibility.

While some B Schools do counsel the students, it does not happen in most of the B Schools currently.
