Job Title: Sr. Business Systems Analyst (Student Information System)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6-9 Month Contract or Contract to Hire
About the Position:
The Business Systems Analyst role is responsible for business process analysis, business system analysis, requirements gathering, system and data analysis, and functional design across one to several Student Lifecycle System component products.
This position reports directly to the Head of Business Solutions Architecture and requires close interaction with the product management team, architecture team, development team, key stakeholders, senior management and product vendor.
The Business Systems Analyst is expected to:
· Understand and communicate how business needs are satisfied by the product
· Collect, refine and prioritize requirements across subsidiary universities
· Work with architecture and development teams on interoperability of the product with other system components using a SOA infrastructure, ETL or other data interface method.
· Contribute to the definition of product strategy and road map within the client's Student Lifecycle System
• Contribute to the global and local product implementation vision
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams and product vendor
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert with regards to the use of the product within the enterprise
· Develop an understanding how the products fit in within the client's Student Lifecycle System
• Contribute to estimation efforts (time and duration) regarding product implementation details
Required experience and knowledge
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Systems Analyst
· Experience in one or more of the following technologies is a PLUS:
· Student Information Systems
· Virtual Learning Environments
· Facilities Management / Scheduling
· Enterprise Content Management
· Customer Relationship Management
· Business Intelligence/ETL/Data Quality
· Identity Management
· Web Portal
· Ecommerce
· Social/Collaboration Software
· Federated Search
• Strong technical skills
· Higher Education experience, a PLUS
· Experience working on large-scale, enterprise level projects
· Understanding of SOA Infrastructure, a PLUS
· Demonstrated ability to view systems at a holistic level, in order to determine synergies as well as gaps in functionality
· Comfortable working within motivated timeframes
• Demonstrated success defining business and functional requirements on an enterprise scale
• Track record of leadership and self-starter abilities
· Demonstrated ability to create processes and thrive in an unstructured environment
• Deep experience in leading facilitation (e.g., JAD) sessions, producing Functional Design and Business Requirements documentation, review/approve QA test scenarios
• Excellent teamwork skills and collaboration abilities
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 10-20% of the time
