I agree that we should definitely shun parties this new year - there is really no cause to celebrate !



But the movement to boycott Republic Day which has started in some quarters is ridiculous.



Our angst against the establishment should not be a reason to belittle our nation's achievements

This is mourning time. A daughter of this country fought the physical and psychological brutality thrust upon her because of the corrupt and insensitive system. I call upon all MTC members to tell all their students and their colleagues and whom so ever they are in contact with not to celebrate the new year this time. This will send a strong message to the wrong doers and to those who keep sheltering them – the politicians and the police.
