RE: [MTC Global] Student feedback-Yard stick of faculty performance?

My interaction with thousands of students for last one decade reinforces the fact again and again that-

1. Students are not at fault and quite capable of asesseing the faculty based on lessons delivered and interaction in the class.

2. Students are at the receiving end, who can judge better than them.

3. Many Teachers may have big qualifications , publsihed hundreds of paper and given counsultancy to top companies but may compromise with classroom delivery of lessons. In such case, we can not blame students.

4. If we need to blame, we have to blame the academic system. Few people in position, play all politics/tricks to save their chair.

5. Vested interested teachers pollute the young minds by misleading.

6. Students are forced to oblige because of their attendance, leave and internal marks.
Students are smart enough to understand the situation quickly and act accordingly.

7. But a good teacher always remains in the heart of the students and remebered for ever.

8. In this Human Race, I wonder is there something called as 'perfect appraisal system' ?

Best wishes.

A feedback form needs careful thought.
First it has to be well thought through.Open ended questions as against
close ended ,on a scale of 1-10 etc make a difference
Second,is the student put through say a feedback training program. As a
whole it is believed Indians are not good at feedback.
Also do we want development feedback or motivational ?
Interesting though to think through this.....
