Description:
System Administrator is responsible for the operation of all system and network infrastructure that serves as the platform for the development, implementation and operation of various business applications and processing.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a hands-on senior technical resource for building out new AD Environment including new AD schemas
• As Tier III in the support structure, provide daily support for various systems/applications, including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, Tomcat6, IIS, MSSQL, MySQL, OpsWise, MS Analytics Services, and many Amazon AWS components.
• Participate in the design and construction of the infrastructure in the Amazon Cloud to service clients and take ownership of the system/network operations framework.
• Participate in various engineering projects and contribute from operations perspective.
• Define and manage the standard system configurations for all servers via server images and a set of automated initialization scripts.
• Work with DBAs to define, implement and manage data security strategies.
• Define, execute and manage system/network maintenance initiatives.
• Define, implement and manage system disaster recovery plan.
• Mentor Technical Operations Engineers on the system/network operations knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years experience in a production operations position
• Minimum 3 years of system administration experience
• Professional work ethic (accountable, reliable, honest)
• Strong customer service mentality
• Motivated to learn and potential to grow
• Capability of multitasking with proper prioritization
• Proven ability to work in a team environment inside a dynamic, fast paced business. Shares responsibility well and is flexible in work assignments.
• Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design.
• Proven ability to produce system documentation, including writing requirements, operational specifications, system architecture, test plans and as-built documentation, all with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work within formal processes.
• Experience working with dispersed teams
• Technical skills
o Expert knowledge of Windows Active Directory for Server 2008 and 2008 R2
o Strong understanding of configuring and supporting Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, Organizational Units
o Experience with Group Policy Object creation and management, AD migration and backup/recovery best practices
o In depth knowledge of security risks, vulnerabilities, attack surfaces, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques
o Experience working in a virtualized environment. (AWS, VMware, Xen, Hyper-V)
o Help to define and execute ongoing administration and health maintenance plans, procedures, and operations
o Maintain and document security, integrity, business continuity, compliance and audit controls of existing environment
o Experience working in a high capacity, mission-critical web serving environment.
o Experience with Microsoft Windows or Linux required. Experience with both strongly preferred.
o Detailed knowledge of operating system technologies and systems support - administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, and general maintenance.
o Knowledge of core Internet protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTP/S, SSH) required.
o Experience with IP communication, packet structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting required.
o Experience with application development languages such as Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, ASP.NET.
o Proven ability to implement and manage solutions that offer massive scalabilty.
o Experience with FTP, SVN, LDAP, preferred.
• Fluent with English and able to effectively communicate (read/write/speak) with various productivity tools
• BS in computer science or related field
Secondary Qualifications (Nice to Have):
• Experience with Amazon AWS Cloud Infrastructure including, EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, ELB, SimpleDB, and CloudFormation.
• Experience creating automation scripts and applications to increase efficiency.
• Digital Marketing and Advertising Domain Knowledge
• Experience with third party Ad Serving Solutions (i.e. DFP/DFA/DART, Atlas)
- able to work with both Lynux and Windows
- broad skill set on system admin, and networking, security
- automation with Chef or Puppet or CFEngine
- leadership skill
