RE: [ACEsthetics] asking for referrals

I would like some data as to the success of asking—we’ve been doing this in many forms for years—but with very limited success.

I tend to be more like Rick in my comments.  I usually say something like "Wow!  Thanks!  I need an entire practice full of this sort of thing.  Please send me more patients just like you."

I am smiling and joking and telling the truth and they are very well aware of it.

Yes, the less stiff you are, the more relaxed, the lighter you ask, the better, while still conveying your intent. "I absolutely love it when you send people my way, Irene!" It makes my day, and when I get my Rolls Royce, I am going to take you for a ride in it!

Whenever you hear a patient comment positively about their visit or treatment, I say something like this:  “ I really appreciate you saying that.  We try very hard to do our best here and we sure would love to have more patients like you.  If you have any family or friends that need a great dentist, please send them our way.”  Needs to be honest and eye to eye.  WS

What do all of you say or how do you ask patients for referrals? I've been told that I sound a bit rehearsed when asking. It would be nice to have several options so we can change the way we ask.

     Thanks,
