Re: [ACEsthetics] Here we go again with Oz!

Aha, now we're getting to the root cause.  You know what comes after Finger alphabetically?  Frontal Lobe.
My father-in-law used to wear a badge also.  Got him to the front of every line.  He was never a cop.  Frontal Lobe.

I wore a badge for thirty years and stayed in the room with 75% of my radiographs, holding most with my finger.  Badge never registered and my finger has yet to bust into a mass of curling, flopping carcinoma.

You all are all in the pockets of the Radiation Lobby.  Why do you bash Dr. Oz when he's trying to spread the truth?  And the snopes people are also funded by people who want to spread false information.  And Quackwatch.org is completely in the pocket of Big Pharma.  And www.whatstheharm.net is spreading lies about the danger of alternative medicine treatments.  They have completely sold out as well.   You can't trust anyone except for the Woozard of Oz and Dr. Mercola.

And obviously Guy, Ken, and Chris have completely sold out and are trying to censor treatments that threaten their existence.  For shame.

Yeah, I just checked it on Snopes...out since 2011.

And I do remember the discussion of thyroid collars.

Thanks for the reminder.  I'm sure there's research to

show thyroid collars both helping and hurting at the same time.

All my best,

Chris

Chris,

We have definitely had this discussion before.  I believe he said this last year.  I thought the consensus of the group was that Thyroid collars spread the radiation more.

Hey All,

Wouldn't you know it...Dr. Oz is at it again!

I just received this email from a neighbor, intended

for my wife, and sent to all the women they know.

"Local viral", I call it.

Dr. Oz is apparently saying on a recent show that dental x-rays,

just lumped right in with mammograms, "could be possibly related"

(translation: IS related) to the increase in thyroid cancer in

women, which he said is the fastest growing cancer in women.

I've copied the note she sent, which was copied from another woman

near our neighborhood.  Does anyone have any ammunition in the

way of research that can address this statement?

And, of course there's the indiscriminate way Oz combined dental

x-rays (teeny tiny) with mammograms (massive) in the way of

radiation exposure.  Must have been a slow news day!  We're already

making it clear that we've always used thyroid collars.

All my best,

Chris

Thyroid cancer On Wednesday, Dr. Oz had a show on the fastest growing cancer in women, thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program and he mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. He demonstrated that on the apron the dentist puts on you for your dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck. Many dentists don't bother to use it. Also, there is something called a "thyroid guard" for use during mammograms. By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn't routinely used. Answer: "I don't know. You have to ask for it."Well, if I hadn't seen the show, how would I have known to ask? We need to pass this on to our daughters, nieces, mothers and all our female friends and husbands tell your wives !! I just did, now you send it on to your list. Someone was nice enough to forward this to me. I hope you pass this on to your friends and family.
