Hey, it is no problem, and as far as I am concerned, a lively discussion is interesting and informative, but the people have spoken- to a great extent- and sometimes these things just go on and on. So, in the long run, it would be better to not talk about so many of these non-dental things that have the potential to drive members off, capeesh?
No harm, no foul!

Rick,My apologies. I wrote my response prior to seeing your request to privatize the conversation. I will do so by removing acesthetics@googlegroups.com from the addressees. Sorry you had to read that.On Feb 7, 2013, at 5:52 PM, David R. Boag DDS <spikedds@gmail.com> wrote:Guy,I'm not "officially" a TEA Party person, but I do align with much of what they say. For whatever reason, you are focused on the 37 & 39%, when one MUCH bigger problem is that half the people pay NOTHING in income tax! And, the even larger problem is that no one in that dang city of Washington D.C. knows how to spend money wisely! If a broker wanted to take your money, and you KNEW he had a reputation for frivolously wasting his clients' money, I would just LOVE to be a fly on the wall to hear how you would tell him what he could do with his investment ideas. These guys don't have a freaking clue about how to spend money. Explain to me why I SHOULDN'T object to them taking more of my money? I'm not even sure which tax bracket I'm in, but I assure you it isn't the highest one, but I STILL say it.The progressives' intentions are to continue to take more money from the top tier while further expanding the bottom tier who are dependent on government and keeping them quiet about being there by expanding the number of people who pay no income tax. You're a smart enough guy to know that this cannot sustain itself!IF the government would FIRST SIGNIFICANTLY pare down our spending and ALSO broaden the taxpayer base to make most people (>75%) pay SOME income taxes, then I think it's appropriate to talk about upping the rate on the top tier, but ONLY if that is necessary after doing all that--which it may very well be. I don't care how much somebody makes, taxes should NEVER take more than half of what a person makes, and by that I mean total taxes, federal, state. local, SS, Medicare, property, EVERYTHING Taking more than half of what a person makes is immoral, no matter HOW much they make. The reason there is a revenue problem is NOT PRIMARILY because we are not taxing the rich enough; it is PRIMARILY because we don't tax ENOUGH PEOPLE. And you KNOW this is true!Until they address the two biggest problems, why should the rich pay more than they already do, when only half pay ANY, and pay it to people who just WASTE IT? Once those problems are even BEGUN to be dealt with, THEN we can talk about adjusting the tax rate on the wealthiest to a higher level IF it is still necessary!

I know Republican friends in congress and the state legislature who view them as lunatics. Yea, you are damned right. You and I should pay more taxes than my son. And this is taxation which has no relationship at all to gouging which is becoming more and more common in our profession. If Pankey really said charge all they can afford to pay then I want nothing to do with Pankey or anything they do. I'll put them in there with Scientology. Respectfully, Guy--
