Rick and all … There are just certain people and times we do something just because we know it is right and makes us feel really good inside.  I wish I were rich, not for ALL the STUFF I could buy, but all the fun I could have helping others.   Just ask my wife and staff if you don’t believe this and it is just what I like to do, but I want to be the one making the choice as to whom I am going to do it for.  Terry

We never talked insurance, or money,  at all. The pain in this woman's eyes told me all I needed to know, and it really didn't matter to me if she paid me or not, she knows she will need a bunch more work and I will most likely be doing it. I think I charged her $300, but it was an investment in a full mouth case, I have no doubt.

 

Probably would have been different if she had been demanding or rude, but she was just bereft, needed to be taken care of.

Well, it truly was dereliction of duty in my eye, just absolutely not taking care of someone in need. Maybe I inflammed it a bit when I posted, but it was so silly and unthinking on their part. Did I overreact?

This lady called yesterday, turns out she went to her old dentist with this, and he/she told her that she needed to see a prosthodontist and wouldn't do anything with that tooth.

 

Can you frickin imagine doing that to an attractive middle aged woman, who works in an office job?

 

How much trouble is it to put a post and build a temp crown?

 

You think she is a grateful patient right now? Oh, don't answer that, her eyes told me!

 

Pisses me off that any dentist would pass on that opportunity to help, seriously.
