Re: [cameroon_politics] Missing UB Student Leader Found, Hospitalsed

Dear Sammy,
It is  easy to guess the architects and executioners of the kidnapping of the UBSU student. The beatings on the soles of his feet inform you that this is the work of Biya's urban terrorist squad called Brigade D'Intervention Rapide (BIR). They are well trained to perform such duties. It only suffices that a whistleblower should point at an "enemy" of the Biya gangster regime, and the BIR will pounce on the "enemy". They slaughtered over 200 in Douala in 2008 and their corpses abandoned in Laquintini hospital. Many other extra-judicial massacres have been reported by Amnesty International.
Peace cannot reign at the UB when you have trenchant enemies of the institution running it for and on behalf of, those who were forced to endorse the Anglo-Saxon University in Buea in the face of the ironclad resolve by parents against the criminal brutalization of our children  in the then University of Yaounde by the violence-prone gendamerie gang led by Lieutenant John Beck.
This is why our traditional leaders should avoid being manipulated by the enemy. Let them instead question why they pay more for gas in its Fako source than it costs in Yaounde, Garoua, Bafoussam,Ebolowa, Bertoua, etc.; why one of their engineers cannot be appointed General Manager of SONARA; why Chief Inoni who has been keeping them awash with cash during "electionsshould "be exposed to such humiliation in Kondengui prison; why the Tiko International Airport has been abandoned; why the Victoria deep seaport has been abandoned in favor of Kribi; and why!why! why!!!!
When they start raising such questions, then they will understand that bowing to cooked up accusations by agents of the occupying regime against "an identified region" is playing the game of their enemy, the enemy who wants their eternal enslavement and impoverishment.

I was led to understand the value of my anger and my desire to speak out, through these words from Mary Catherine Hilkert, a Dominican theologian. She wrote in Speaking with Authority: Catherine of Siena and the Voices of Women Today:
"Sometimes the words of protest are the only words we can speak clearly in the face of complex forces of evil woven into the fabric of our lives and world. We cannot always see or name the way forward. Further, no liberation front or political or social program can be identified with the reign of God. But even the cry of protest is a word of grace that moves us to resistance and to searching for another way. The beginning of finding a new path is speaking the truth of what clearly is not God's will for human life …."

People,

We do not need to go far to look for the terrorists that might have ended this lad's life. All those hooligans who signed that bellicose document in the name of bakweri chiefs should all be arrested and investigated. They did it or should know something about that disgraceful behavior.

Poor thing. He should not have been alone on the street when his unit was under fire, no matter the circumstance. Thank God he is alive. Let's all keep him in our prayers so that the nurses should nurture him back to normal health.

Disappeared UB Student Leader  Found, Hospitalised

As the confusion as to whether the French hostages kidnapapped in Dabanga Far North Cameroon continues the interim President of the Universioty of Buea Students Union, UBSU,Minang Ronand who 'disappeared' since Feb 12 in Molyko was early this morning Feb 21 discovered abandoned beside the road in Muea, Buea Subdivison. He is now receiving treatment in a hospital(Minang demands confidentiality for now for fear of his security).
Minang narrated his ordeal to me a while ago through the telephone of one of his mates " It was about 8 pm on that Feb 12. i was returning home. a white carina e stopped beside me around Paramount Hotel. three men came out from the car and surendered me. they said i should not make any noise or the would eliminate me. They then took me in their car and we drove for almost an hour. my eyes were completely sealed. We then arrived an abandoned building and i could not tell where i was. The following day the kidnappers gave me just bread and water. then on day three they brough in a document and asked me to sign. The said i should comply and sign that there strike in UB should end and that i would no longer be part of any strike action in UB. I told them i did not call the strike action but the entire student body. They then badly beat me under my legs and threatened to eliminate me. they were even divided as to whether I should be killed or not. they had confiscated all my telephones. They kept me fed with bread and water until yesterdyay(Feb 20 2013) when they came back for me in that abadoned building. They carried me late in the night and dumped me around Muea beside the banana plantation on the shortcut to Molyko. I struggled and was rescued by some passersby early this morning. they rushed me to hospital."  Minang recounted.
Sources at the hospital where he is admitted are saying there are difficulties locating his veins and that he became to pale.
Minage said he cannot for now say those who were behind him and that he fears for his life.
UBSU had in a statement issued issued on Feb 14, expressed worries to  the UB authorities about the safety of Minang following his disppearance.
UB authorities are yet to react to what befell Minang. Meanwhile reports say the two other UB students who were thrown into the hell-hole called Buea prison gained their freedom two days ago.
