I have gone back to my archives and found some interesting literature in which interpretating the same literature, some apologists of the end times at that time stated that the Anti Christ was Gorbachev at a time of his dramatic appearance on the world scene. What is intriguing is that a review of the plethora of anti-Christ predictions used to interprete the Biblical revelations, for example, the not so- Christain Nostradamus predictions have continued to change the signposts with every important world event.Although Nostradamus and those who believe in him may well be correct in some of their predictions, they cannot reasonable discount that the Devil being the prince of the world may also make such predictions accurately. Our own Ngambe people who have been maligned by some Church leaders who give credit to Nostradamus and others soothsayers have on occasion made valid predictions. And humans at times make valid predictions on events that are material to their lives and that of people in their communities. Prior to and after 6 April 1984, many soothsayers correctly predicted the events. That does not in my view make these individuals authorities that can be pointed to, to interpret the Holy Bible. Doing so is a serious challenge to our Christian faith as well as the admonitions and cautions Jesus himself made against such practices in the new testament. Again, I am impelled to opine that we should put caveats on our predictions and the juxtaposition of human events with the devine for Christ Himself on being queried by the Apostles about when the end will come answered that nations will rise against nations, brothers against brothers and several signficant events will take place. Then, some will point to those signs and conclude that the end is near. The Lord stated that those predictions will all be wrong. For only the father in heaven along knows the time. Now the interpretation of the revelation which was written by John has given rise to much speculation and predictions upon predictions. The analysis that we are reading from different sources, about the significance of the Pope's resignation have, to say the least, not been consistent. None clearly predicted that Pope Benedict XVI would resign. Why? Such a major development concerning the book of revelations would have been predicted suscintly to avoid any doubt that the great moment indeed was here. No so? All I am reading are interpretations in which attempts are made to fit specific events including the resignation of the Pope to fit into Biblical verses, in particilar, the revelation. Coming to the conclusions that I have read demands laying down the imperical, forensic and biblical basis on which the conclusions were drawn, while considering and discounting alternative interpretations of the events. To avoid the erroneous claims that had placed the conclusions that I have read with past events to underscore sacroscant stable biblical interpretation and predictions, all other theories must be considered and discounted. That has so far not been done to my satisfaction and hopefully many people of faith. I am therefore unpersuaded by not by the word of God in revelations but by attempts to fit an unfolding significant event into the situation ordained there in. I state this because those making the claims had upon starting their churches discounted the Roman Catholic Church, the Pope and the Vatican as the legitimate hiers the Petrine stool and upon which Christ built his Church. That disconnect on and of itself may well be is what is setting the world on the road to the Anti Christ and not a single event within the Christian church.
