Well, Mr. Atemkeng, this is a well written piece. But I am afraid it would have been good enough for the 1960s. I say so because there have been many delegations and missions to the various embassies and missions of countries around the globe in Washington DC and in New York. All these Southern Cameroons delegations received the same recommendations from the different countries. If you want to know what they prescribed for the Southern Cameroonians to do to attain statehood, then ask Dr. Ayim., ask the head of Abazonia, ask Prof. Anyangwe, and many others. Even the delegation that was led by Foncha and Muna to the UN in the mid 90s. They were given a specific recommendation on how to attain statehood. No country in the world would attain independence by diplomatic means alone. If you are prescribing that we should hold meetings in Nigeria because there would be no gendarmes to disperse people, then that is really funny. How are you going to get independence without organizing rallies in the territory of the Southern Cameroons? I can tell you that countries that matter are aware of our plight. I know that a lot of communication has gone to practically all countries of the world explaining our plight. I hope that you are not asking us to go back and start doing the same thing again!
Please, we should get serious and do the right things. This thing left this stage a long time ago. I do not want to write the prescriptions and recommendations from various friendly countries here on the Internet. Please, there are things that we need to do and they are being followed up as we speak. We only need people to be on board. That is it.

Chief,
Thanks very much for stating the matter so well. That is what we need to do. But even achieving this calls for a few dedicated minds with clear focus, energy and know-how.
Atemnkeng.

Permit me to quickly underscore the point you made previously. We have been speaking to ourselves and wasting valued time attempting to convince our adversary and its supporters about the genuineness of our case. That is not helpful considering that not only does our adversary know the strength of our case, but has attempted to test it at Banjul and failed. In her pleading and submissions at the ICJ in the case at bar, it presented our case with only one significant missing link or omission which you pointed out in your considered analysis of that judgment. Even the maps, treaties and authorities cited supported our case. The time has come for us to speak to the world. We have the material and the power of our case to make a compelling case. When we make our case to the world, the International Community listens. Without making that case forcefully to the world, our venture to the next stage will be huge mistake. The avenues for the making of this case are many. First periodically, we have been organizing meetings in most city capitals of the world. During those meetings we spend valuable time criticising and find enemies among us when we should have focused on strategizing on our vision and means of attaining our objectives. Our internet antics are a reflection of what happens when we call meetings. If during each meetings we invite media houses, and persons whose participation could advance our case, present the case forcefully, that will advance the case. Even if members of the diplomatic corps do not attend after being invited, if the material from the conference that we submit or send to them is trong and compelling, they will read and take us serious. Press releases and communiques without insightful serious papers and rigorous presentation on our case will not recieve the attention of even a casual reader. Mola Litumbe, Prof Ayangwe, Prof. Atang, Professor Ayim , Chairman Akwanga, Nfor Nfor,SCNC, SCAPO, AMBAZONIA, the analysis of the ICJ judgment etc and other compelling books publications and nalysis about our case have been published. Not only have we not made these best sellers, we have failed to make them available to the libraries of the UN and all international organizations that our case may interest, libraries of major universities world wide, etc. In our diplomatic efforts, we have written and replicate the same arguments. . In one of my posting, I suggested that we shoud not only buy these books for our own purposes but should make sure they have the focus and attention they deserve. Doing so makes a difference in perception and understanding our case. A scholarly critique and publication of the material makes a difference. Let us recognize our own efforts, pull them together, send them to the world and then push on. If we cannot considate even our achievement at banjul and other diplomatic victories public and confidential how can we move to any other stage? If we can not hold together and defend forcefully our victories, emphasize our strengths instead of our weaknesses, how can we in all sincerely have the cohesion that can proppel us to victory in the next stage? The open nature of Nigeria, its impressive press, its high regarded universities and academic environment, etc can afford venues for making our case without gendarmes coming in to disperse tha audience. This holds for Adis Abeba, and also other cities of the world. In a world with admirable technological advancement, speaking to the world through this form of media is crucial and important. Most of what Dr Tumasang and the rest have written is read and read widely. What is left, is the focus and consistency of the message and the media source through which these admirable and compelling contributions are made and sent to the world. For now, for a number of reasons, we do not have a media source that can validly be called the voice of Southern Cameroons that fills this vacuum. A quick search in the internet will reveal that ours still need the focus that will command the respect that an international diplomat or jurist can go to in search of serious material and analysis of our case. When the message about the case is hidden among competing messages, our focus is obfuscated. We need a very specialized internet library of the Southern Cameroons " Independence" or Freedom now" society or what we may choose to call it, where serious research, consultation about our case may be found. In it, we will make sure only serious compellable material that advances our cause is store, just like the e-libraries that have become the source from which the civilized world is educated. What about that? Chief Charles A. Taku NB: Excuse the typos if any. I wrote so fast due to time constraints. We must start from here. I respectfully submit.
