[ACEsthetics] NON-Dental--Up toward area 51

Out past Mount Baldy, north of Palm Springs, in fact, not that far from Area 51, up in the California High Desert, you can find the Noah Purifoy outdoor museum. Eclectic art trouves sculptures go from wacky to ironic to painfully serious. Worth the drive to see the rather amazing collection.

Honchos Learn How Bhagwad Gita can Boost Business

Bangalore

Corporate leaders from India and other countries spent two days here learning how spirituality and teachings of Bhagwad Gita can help promote industrial fortunes, at a seminar called Artha addressed by spiritual guru Radhanath Swami.

Radhanath Swami said, the concluding day of the event, that individuals faced many negative events in their lives, but if they were spiritually geared up, the ill-effects themselves were negated. He cited the example of Indian industrialists Arvind Mafatlal and Hrishikesh Mafatlal, who, through their spiritual involvements, managed to successfully handle business turmoils several times during their lives.

Radhanath Swami also discussed how Alfred Ford, of Ford Motors in the U.S., treaded the path of spirituality in all dealings, be they employees, business partners, family or friends, with a sense of humility and concern, which went a long way in establishing long-term cordial relations.

"More happiness is derived in giving than receiving, and when one gives to society something, nature replenishes it manifold. Inner fulfillment comes from giving, not taking," Radhanath Swami said.

He explained that every human being had both - a divine nature and a demonic nature - and they behaved depending on the choice they made.

"A real leader is one who serves, and not controls," Radhanath Swami said.

Explaining meditation, he said it need not be done sitting in one place. "It is connecting with God, and can be achieved during normal business dealings by being tenacious to values based on spiritual premises."

Radhanath Swami, author of international best-seller "Journey Home", addressed issues like can businesspersons become modern world role models, what ancient Vedic wisdom can offer to the modern corporate world, how spirituality can be practised in business, what kind of a business model should be planned for the increasingly restless and confused Gen-Next.

Other speakers at the two-day event included Hrishikesh Mafatlal, N.D. Desai of Apar Industries, Sai Sudhakar of Apar Technologies, Singapore, Rashmi Kamdar with business interests in Russia and South America, Naveen Kumar of Nityo Infotech, and Rajesh Talwar of Basil Partners.

The guests of honour included: Alfred Ford of Ford Motors, Atul Goel of Goel Ganga Group, R.K. Behera and Ratikant Behera of RSB Group, Ajitkumar Jindal of Tata Motors, Ramesh Talwalkar of Premier Engineering and Rahul Dhoot of Dhoot Techno-projects.

Wow! Indeed innovative thinking. Teachers need to apply their mind on three statements made by Thomas Friedman:

1.       Teachers is a translator between two hostile tribes – the education world and the business world

2.       Education system should not make students college ready but innovation ready

3.       Today’s youth has not to find jobs but invent the jobs.

Rick,

We are kind of struggling with this right now also.  We have setup referal codes so we know what is going out but have no good way to track if the patient followed up.  We are using Eaglesoft.  As much as I love many things about Eaglesoft their specialist referal stuff is really completely useless.  It is like the programmer made it with no input from an actual working office.

No mirror.  The scope becomes the mirror substitute in your left hand.

I would think that you'd have to be close to right on top of the orifice to be able to see, because it would be hard to hold BOTH the camera and your mirror at the same time. I would think that positioning the camera right above the orifice would get in the way of a file. Often, it's tough getting those things in there all by themselves. No?

Magnification can be similar to the heavy iron scopes and a heck of a lot easier to slew around to visualize things better.  Yeah, not 3D, but that turns out to be pretty irrelevant as soon as you put an instrument into the field.  The mind immediately snaps into 3D mode and understands exactly where stuff is.

Just kidding a friend.  It is very likely he bought it just for your office.  Lugging those things around would be a task I would not want unless you were built like a tank.  You could not use the base as a mobile part.  It would have to stay put…about 200 pounds.  But is does give him a spare to store off site if one of his goes down.  You probably have more room than him.  Are you in Dallas? I'd love to see some of the offices while I'm out there.

Re: [ACEsthetics] Endo so skip if not interested

No, the ozonides are around for quite some time doing their thing.

Irrelevant completely if we're talking about oxygen inhibition, however.  The oily layer may be an issue if not removed.

Thank you Bill. My comment was more concerning the ozone carrier, and not the ozone itself.

But your comment does raise the question: If oil is a more time-released form, might the oxidative properties of the oil become more relevant? Do the ozonoids in oils react and disappear just as quickly as the ozone in gas form or in aqueous?

Thanks for your insight.

Maybe, but has not been observed by those using ozone in reality.  Probably because it reacts so rapidly that it disappears as a reactive entity before you get your sealer mixed.

JIf he bought a scope just to leave at your office, he's lying a bit.  You don't buy a 20k dollar piece of equipment to sit for four days.  He must have one at his office on its last leg.  Now I'd have to buy one to leave at your office because I couldn't carry the scope in.  I'd buy a base but not the entire scope.  You can only get in about four or five endos in a day if they are molars and unless your fees are 2 grand a molar it isn't worth leaving one.  Jerking the chain of one of my favorite people.

Subject: Re: [ACEsthetics] How do you account for patients you refer out to specialists

Partner does wisdom teeth and some implants. Our resident periodontist does more implants and perio surgery. The endodontist works every Saturday (he bought a microscsope just to leave at our office), so there really is very little we refer out. Pediatric ortho - yep.

I know Marvin doesn't refer, but I also know you don't do anything involving tooth dust or blood, and your partner can't do everything, Kent! Implants, endodontics on troublesome patients, wisdom teeth- you know!

Referrals? What are referrals? I asked Marvin, and he had this puzzled look on his face, so I thought I would ask the group. Hey Dilatush, do you want us putting info on doctors not in our practice in our next mailer too? :-)

I am wanting to develop a form where I can know what happened with each patient I refer out to a specialist- surgeon, implant guy, endodontist, periodontist.

I fear the "black hole" syndrome, where you really don't know what happened with your folks, and sure, I can go look in practiceworks at a particular patient, but what if I don't remember that patient's name?

How do you handle this?
