Those of you who bonus your team on production/collections:

I have, for the first time, added a hygienist to my payroll and I need to figure out how to adjust my daily goals so that bonuses are properly motivated. I have also recently added a second assistant who is only PRN on days that we have high production items on the schedule.

First, let's focus on the hygienist. Let's say I'm paying her $X per 1/2 day (she comes in for either a morning or an afternoon, not both yet). My minimal expectation of her production for that 1/2 day is $3(X). How much production would you add to your daily goal that if the practice hits it, they would bonus for the day? My monthly bonus is based upon the goals from each day we work added up for the entire month. Before I added these two team members, it was easy. I had a daily goal and we either hit it or we didn't. Now, for days when more team is working, I need to raise my daily goal for those days to make it fair to me. Otherwise, they'd hit it every time.

So what should the multiplier be for them to bonus for the day? $4(X)?

Also, if I use 2 assistants, how much should I expect my production to increase? It can be as a percentage, I suppose. (I think that's how I want to calculate my new goals, but if anyone has a better idea that works, I'd love to hear it.)
