Skills Required and Job Description:

The ETL Developer is able to design, document, develop, test, install and support complex data extract, transformation and load (ETL) programs. This resource will be responsible for designing, coding and testing changes to various data environments. Work with various teams to maintain and enhance respective systems. This resource will work in conjunction with other IT/development and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security and integration requirements from the database perspective, and translate these requirements into functional, scalable and reusable components with the respective development framework. Should have extensive experience on DataStage ETL projects. Work closely with users, business analysts, systems analysts, and application developers to define and resolve information requirements, data flow and data content/quality issues. Transform business requirements into environment specific rule-set and data validation designs (conceptual logical and physical architecture). Design and develop ETL jobs, scheduling and monitoring. Create documentation using data flow diagrams, rule-sets/thresholds, and ETL mappings. Lead/participate in data quality architectural review sessions to ensure compliance with direction and standards. Provide on-going support of existing warehouses/database as well as continually re-evaluate current processes and techniques for increased accuracy, efficiency and maintainability. Previous experiences required: 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing ETL solutions within Data Stage; at least 5 years of experience in relational database design; at least 3 years of experience in supporting star schema designs; experience and/or expertise in establishing measures or techniques to achieve data quality; experience in data governance, stewardship and/or metadata; finance or other relevant industry vertical experience; ETL Certifications. Knowledge required: Solid understanding of Oracle SQL/DB Concepts; OLTP and data warehouse environment; Change data capture techniques; knowledge and adherence to data modeling and data architecture standards and best practices; Strong understanding of industry best practices; Good understanding of SLDC; Self-motivated and a positive "get it done" attitude; Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills; Strong analytical, problem identification/solving skills;  Performance tuning and monitoring applications and databases
