Need Oracle Developer, Waltham, MA, 6+ Months

Position: Oracle Developer

Location: Waltham, MA

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Designs and codes from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements moderately complex software applications 
Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results 
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities 

Works on problems of moderate and varied complexity where analysis of data may require adaptation of standardized practices or precedent. 

Acts independently to identify and select appropriate methodologies. Incumbent handles non-routine issues by following policy or precedent. Work customarily and regularly (50% of time or more) requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. 
Normally receives general instructions on non-routine work assignments. Requires additional instructions and guidance on new assignments. Decisions are made independently. Assigned multiple tasks or projects are generally reviewed after completion. 
Contact is typically coordinative in nature and involves exchanging detailed technical information. May deal with both internal and external contacts. 
Demonstrates working knowledge in job-related functional area and of the business. 
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Enginering,with minimum experience of 7-8 years in the IT Industry. Prefer 4 or more years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry. 

Must have: 
5+ years working experience with writing Oracle PL/SQL scripts, Oracle Stored Procedures/Triggers, working with Oracle DB schema, fine tuning SQLs with DBA to improve the DB scripts' performance. Can read and write Java APIs under minimal instructions. 

Server side experience JAVA and J2EE, Webservices SOAP, XML is highly desireable.
