Re: [ACEsthetics] how would you answer this?

I think that with the internet and the push for transparency, there is some opportunity to answer questions about costs and not paint yourself into a corner, and even though that is one of my weakest areas - talking money to people.

I truly feel that a low cost option for restorative procedures will give a solid base, and whether it is Lumineers or Lava Ultimate- that might give you a baseline fee to start with, say for veneers, or with a nice flexible acrylic partial for a restorative patient.

It is just hard to know what is called for, and sure, it is a seeming mine field, but I also think that patients get tired of the run-around they get, and are owed some truthful explanations.

I think we are so used to putting ourselves ABOVE price shopping or comparisons that we ignore the fact that we do the same thing- we compare labs and lab fees, we compare dental supply companies all the time, we often just want to know what sort of numbers we are looking at.

For instance, Biolase is offering a new scanner that will give its data in a open format, so that any lab can use it (supposedly different from other scanners) and it sounded really great when the techie sales guy was telling me about it, and I just wanted a ball park figure and he said around thirty thousand, and that was all I needed to know. I wasn't ready to buy, but I wanted to know if it was in my price range. That's how many patients are- "Just give me an idea and treat me like I was a competent human being!".

I don't know the answers here, but I am working on it, and it is way counterintuitive to how we have operated for the past 40 years, but there is a germ of a good idea in there, a way to interact with courtesy and transparency, even without knowing all of the needed facts!

This is becoming an all too frequent occurrence.  I got this from an inquire on my Web site.  How would you all answer this?

 

Unfortunaley I am looking at least a partial denture soon. Before we go any further I would like an estimate of the range for dentures? a full mouth $......... a partial$......... just so I have an ideal on how much I can expect. I heard from others they range from 1,0000 a set to 2,0000 if they are much more then what are the differences?? I am not ready to do anything yet but, I would appreciate just a ball park figure Dr. Siegal.
