RE: [ACEsthetics] Why I can't work with local labs

My local lab sucks on everything but removable. That guy knows his
business. The implant and C and B guy is horrible and that is being nice.
About fifteen years ago I found out there was another world out there and
quit sending to my local lab for crown and bridge/implants. They show up
here madder than hell that I had cut them off. I had some stuff from
another lab in the office at the time I just sat it beside what they had
brought to show me. The removable guy was embarrassed. He tried to get the
C and B guy to leave but this guy was going to convince me that his crap was
as good as the other lab. It was not in the ballpark. He shows up a few
years later saying he'd do CE and caught on would I try him. One crown went
and came back...so bad I sent it back and sent the case to World. He just
doesn't have it and never will but I know twenty dentists that use them
exclusively. A lot of dentists don't give a rip any more than the lab.

Your email really should be headlined, Why I can't work with "my" local
labs. I have very good local labs around my location and I meet regularly
with them to review what they are doing well and what I want them to improve
upon!

Look at this crap! Immediate crown delivered from a lab down the street,
that I use for a minimum amount of stuff, to keep him responding to
emergency repairs I get. I didn't blow the images up real large, but can
you imagine that dentists would take this from the lab, and insert it? Can
you just picture what the tissue would look like? So, I microetched the
submarginal chimney, silanated and bonded flowable, and then polished it on
the lathe. But, wouldn't the fact that this left the lab as acceptable
indicate to you that most docs would have no problem with it? Patient in
her 70's had fractured 10 off (non endo tooth) subosseous, and opted for
immediate fixture and crown. Just venting. I had to spend a half hour
making the labwork acceptable.
