Leo Malin (the writer) doesn't make a specific reference to them, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about Ankylos implants.

They are good. I've placed about 50-60 of them. The restorative, however, can be a pain in the ass. You cannot get a UCLA-type abutment for them; so you are limited to cement-retained.
The surgical placement is a little different, also, in the fact that it is a "low-torque" system. You can't be screwing these in and hearing the bone squeak!
