VICE-CHANCELLOR GOES TO COURT
On Thursday 4th April 2013, the VC Madam Egbe Nalova Lyonga goes to court to testify against students' leaders. The VC who has failed to appear in court for two sittings now, has finally decided to testify. She is bent on silencing UBSU by making sure leaders who stood for students' interest are jailed due to her trump up charges.
The Cameroon Government through the Minister of Higher Education last week issued a press release concerning the case already to fine tune the verdict in favour of madam VC.
It should be recalled that, on February 6th, UB students protested against the lack of basic amenities on campus and the moves by the VC to undemocratically elect UBSU Leadership
These students' leaders, 8 of them amongst which is the UBSU President was kidnapped for a week and abandoned along the Muea-Kumba highway.
A battery of eight lawyers have been defending the student leaders for a while now
On this note, we will assemble in court to defend our leaders, the last option is still lingering around.
