RE: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Answer Lies Within

There are teachers who have succeeded in making learning a happy experience for the students and they have always succeeded in their mission.

Subject: Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate] Answer Lies Within

I would like to quote a latest advertisement of TANG energy Drink  which we can see on all channels. THE Ad shows that Children in society are protesting against their mother for giving some extra time to play( Mummy Giri Nahi Chalegi)..... & finally the deal of extra playing hour is done with negotiation of extra hour of study and a tang energy drink.

My question is that why Study is taken as a burden??...  inclination towards television, indoor and outdoor games is more but why  their is less inclination towards study or why not these advertisement focus on protest for study rather than playing games ?

I'm not against any games or physical activities  but I think "study" has always been a fear factor for most of students... we can see various impact of it when class 10th, 12th or even IIT student tries to commit suicide.

In today's era Children are more smarter than ever think, Indian idols are dancers, singers, actors like Michael Jackson, Atif aslam, Sharukh Khan and kids like to imitate them from very beginning of their career. Very few students may be their who might follow knowledge gurus.

Now coming back to original question as raised by  Prof. Bholanath Dutta . My inputs are as follows

1. Subject teachers and even Parents can make the study more fun loving by developing creativity and interest in studies( Play schools & Creative schools like Mount Litera Zee School are developing such models to increase the interest of students towards studies).

2. Students should have freedom to choose their interesting field of study( In most of the cases it stands missing when the child is forced to take subjects according to their parent's interest).

3.High ranking and grades should never be engraved as the prime focus to be achieved in the mind of students by their Parent's and peer group.

If both the mind and the body are involved in any activity your participative spirits will be very high. Education / Learning is like driving a car. All the limbs, Mind, Eyes, Ears, sometimes Nose ( smelling petrol) will be in action  while driving. If any organ fail in their senses there will be adverse result. Therefore, both the teaching and learning  must be like driving a car where both intellectual, mental and physical controls are invariably required to achieve the desired results. These sensory controls are there in Yoga practice, Dance  and  karate but not in subject teaching which has to invariably designed.
